Privacy Policy

DoodleDance ("we", "the app") lets you write a short story, upload a drawing, and uses AI to turn it into a picture and a video. This page explains, in plain language, what information we collect and what we do with it. DoodleDance is a small, independently run project — this is a plain-English description of our practices, not a law-firm drafted legal document.

Information we collect

• Google account info. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo (via Google OAuth / Auth.js). We use this only to identify your account and show it back to you in the app — we never see your Google password.
• Drawings and story text you upload. The image you upload and the story you write are sent to our AI provider (BytePlus ModelArk / Volcengine Ark) to generate a picture and a video from them.
• Generated pictures and videos. We keep a copy of what's generated for you in your personal Library so you can download it, for up to 24 hours, after which it's automatically deleted from our servers.
• Community posts (optional). If you choose to share a finished video to the Community feed, it's shown publicly under a nickname you pick at that moment — not your account name or email. Community posts are automatically deleted 30 days after posting.
• Credit balance and purchase records. We keep a record of your credit balance and which credit packs you've bought, tied to your account. Payments are processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card number; Stripe handles that directly.

Who we share data with

We don't sell your data. We share the minimum necessary with the services that make the app work:

• Google — for signing in.
• BytePlus ModelArk / Volcengine Ark — receives your uploaded drawing and story text to generate the picture and video.
• Stripe — processes credit-pack payments.
• BytePlus TOS (object storage) — used for our own backups of billing records.

How long we keep things

• Generated pictures/videos in your Library: 24 hours.
• Community posts: 30 days.
• Account info and credit balance: kept for as long as your account is active, so your credits don't disappear between visits.

Families and children

DoodleDance is designed to be used by a parent or guardian together with their child. The Google account used to sign in must belong to an adult; we don't knowingly collect account information directly from children. Drawings and stories uploaded through the app are provided by the signed-in adult on the child's behalf.

Your choices

You can delete a Community post you made at any time from the app. To delete your account and associated data entirely, contact us at the email below and we'll remove it.
